Raw Comext
The preferred replication layer for selected CN energy products, explicit extra-EU filtering and partner shares.
Supplier evidence
A source-aware view of extra-EU supplier concentration that keeps raw Comext, official API and published-workbook evidence separate.
Partner rankings are meaningful only when product codes, reporter scope, trade flow, period and measurement unit match. SecurEnergy preserves three provenance layers instead of merging unlike figures into one ranking.
The preferred replication layer for selected CN energy products, explicit extra-EU filtering and partner shares.
A reproducible annual quantity route used for coherent partner analysis when the raw value/mass scope is not required.
A comparison layer for figures presented in Eurostat communication material; derived aggregates are labelled separately.
The table reports the three largest partners in the project’s 2025 raw-Comext replication by net-mass share within each selected product scope. It is not a share of total EU energy demand, and percentages should not be aggregated across unlike products.
| Selected product scope | Three largest partners in 2025 |
|---|---|
| Solid fuels (project label: coal) | Australia (29.8%), United States (27.3%), Colombia (16.5%) |
| Natural gas in gaseous state | Algeria (30.6%), Norway (24.6%), Russia (15.9%) |
| Liquefied natural gas | United States (52.9%), Russia (12.6%), Qatar (11.1%) |
| Petroleum oil | United States (14.6%), Kazakhstan (12.8%), Norway (12.8%) |
Value shares and net-mass shares answer different questions. Quantity aggregation across unlike fuels is descriptive and is not a physically harmonized energy measure.
Which partners account for the largest shares inside a defined product and period?
How have selected supplier shares and concentration changed over time?
Which oil, gas or solid-fuel channels could transmit a geopolitical or infrastructure shock?
Detailed filtering and validation rules are documented in the methodology. The underlying public source is Eurostat Comext; SecurEnergy’s transformations remain project-derived.
